I am so excited to announce that TLSOM now has it's very own blog!
The blog is an opportunity for me to write about all things mindfulness; including support and guidance from senior mindfulness teachers, additional information on how to use our products, mindfulness practices for you to try, reflections and so much more.
So let me start by introducing myself. My name is Nshorna and I am the founder of TLSOM.
How did I stumble across the practice of mindfulness? I didn't is the answer in short! I grew up with it!
My father, Christopher Titmuss is a key, senior figure in the mindfulness world! He left the UK in 1967 to make the overland journey through the East to learn about himself, other ways of life, cultures and religions.
He spent four years in Thailand and two in India as a Buddhist Monk. He met with leading spiritual teachers, including the Dalai Lama and returned to the West with a mountain of knowledge to share with others.
He has subsequently spent over 45 years teaching mindfulness and meditation across the globe and is the author of 20 books.
It wasn't until my early 30's that I would say that I was able to acknowledge the profound impact growing up around mindfulness had on my life. In particular, my connection with nature, my empathy levels, my resilience and my passion and care for the planet and humanity.
My father informally passed down the practice of mindfulness through my childhood. I was never forced to do any kind of formal practice. I simply observed, listened and learnt. It became part of my daily life.
I attended countless meditation retreats and would listen to my father and other teachers give inspirational talks. I would apply this to daily living from a very young age. Some teachings were at local retreat centres to our hometown in Totnes, Devon. Some were in other countries such as France, USA, Australia, and India where I frequented with my father throughout my school years.
I became a pro without even knowing it! In fact, we all are! That is the beauty of mindfulness. It is something we all have the ability to do and reap the rewards from on a daily basis.
I myself have worked supporting children and families for over 20 years in various senior roles. I am passionate about the positive impact mindfulness can have on the emotional wellbeing of individuals, children and families.
After a trip to Thailand for my son's 18th Birthday in January 2019, I decided to leave my job in a senior position to embark upon a journey to support others through mindfulness. I teamed up with my father and we have now been able to utilise our expertise and make that dream a reality.
My father, alongside Mindfulness Teacher and Author, Ulla Koenig, write the content for the gift sets that we offer on our website. We carefully consider products for each box that can support emotional wellbeing and offer calmness, clarity and relaxation to the user. Each box supports the user in a different way. All boxes come with step by step mindfulness instructions.
We are a family run, small business. Our ethos is to offer unique, beneficial, affordable products and gift sets that can support you on your mindfulness journey. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner. We are always here to answer any questions you have on how to get the most out of your products.
Please do subscribe to the blog and join us on this journey to further explore our ability as human beings to live mindfully.
